Bridge Dedication Plaque

Bridge Dedication Plaque

This photo was found in a collection of Honig items at a Newburgh antique shop. Documentation has not been found that it was actually done by Honig.

Bridge Dedication Plaque

This photo taken in June, 2007 shows the south end of the old Highway 41 bridge that is now a walking trail. A person said the plaque had been stolen years ago. It was difficult to see the concrete wall where the plaque was probably mounted. Vegetation has covered the walls at the south, town end.

Bridge Dedication Plaque

This photo is from the north looking south. The plaque was not at this end, but notice the angle in the concrete wall.

Bridge Dedication Plaque

This photo is looking south on the iron bridge.

Thanks to Judy True of the White River News for tracking down and photographing the plaques in July, 2007. She found a local person who had "rescued" the plaque on the Gibson County side of the bridge. He wanted to prevent it from being stolen or lost. This photo was taken on the back of his truck.

Bridge Dedication Plaque

The plaque that hung on the Knox County side of the bridge was found near the Hazleton Community Center. You can see that it is partially covered by dirt. Thanks again to Judy True and the White River News for locating and photographing them.
