Hundreds of people attended the dedication of the Lincoln Trail Markers. Dedicated February 12, 1928.

On the west side is the Lincoln Trail Club marker. The club was organized on February 15, 1927 with 75 charter members. Its purpose was collecting Hammond Township history and data on the life of Abraham Lincoln.

On the north side is the Chief Set-Te-Tah Shawnee marker. He lived near old Darlington. A marker is on the location of Darlington near Alcoa on Highway 66. On May, 1811 he attacked and killed Atha Meeks on Pigeon Creek near Richland. He was captured above Jasper by Wm. Smothers and posse, lodged in squire Lamar's cabin one mile northeast of Grandview. Set-Te-Tah was shot and buried north of the cabin. He was the last Indian killed in Spencer County.
