Local Sculptor Does Tom, Huck in Stone

A recent artistic creation of George H. Honig, Evansville's well known sculptor, Mercantile Bank building, is a group of two boys after the Mark Twain type of Tom and Huck. Its legend is "Let's go swimmin'." It will be carved out of Bedford stone with figures five feet high, and erected by the Aquatic club in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Honig's latest contribution to art supplements his many notable carvings among which are the memorial group at Joliet, Ill. He recently completed patriotic medallions for installation in city schools. He is at work on a series of ornamental plaques of varied designs which may be used separately or as background for electrical wall fixtures.
