Persons Protraying Lincoln Family

WONDER HOW Tom Lincoln, father of Abraham, is going to feel when Nancy Hanks, his first wife, meets Sarah Bush Lincoln, his second? It probably will happen at the July Fourth celebration at Rockport’s Lincoln Pioneer Village.

Pictured here (upper left) are Tom and Nancy Hanks Lincoln as portrayed by Judge Fred A. Heuring and Mrs. Grace Pattie. Sarah Bush Lincoln (Mrs. Fannie Wright) is pictured, upper right.

And to add to the oddness of the occasion, the woman in the lower left picture will appear as the wife of the youth seated on the crude log bench. Mrs. Kenneth Atchison impersonates Mary Todd Lincoln, wife of the martyred President and John Shrode is little Abe.

THIS APPARENTLY impossible situation has been realistically the high spots in Lincoln’s life. July Fourth is the formal opening of the village which will be kept as a permanent Lincoln memorial and a point of historical interest. Pictures of village buildings will be found elsewhere in The Press.
