Location: This plaque is embedded in the concrete walk on the northwest corner of the courthouse. It can be found at the intersection of Main and Mail Cross Streets on Highway 60.

The plaque can be seen in the concrete step in front of the limestone memorial in the photo above taken November, 2005.

The plaque reads:
In memory of the soldiers and sailors of Hancock County who died in the 1917 - 1918 World War. It lists the names and towns of those who died. Erected by the citizens of Hancock County, Ky. 1924.
