Deaconess Hospital Breast Center - Clara Barton Plaque

Location: This plaque is located outside the entrance to Deaconess Breast Center on 520 Mary Street. Photos taken October, 30, 2003.

When the photos were taken, the area was overgrown with shrubs. Recently, it was cleaned up to make the plaque more visible.

She directed flood relief in the
Ohio River Valley from a home
on this site, which was later
Purchased and became the first
Deaconess Hospital
in Evansville, Indiana.
