SOON COMPLETE FOUNTAIN WORK

UNLESS WEATHER INTERFERES FEW MORE DAYS WILL COMPLETE WORK ON MEMORIAL

NEEDED SUPPLIES ARE HERE

Unless the weather interferes, the Joseph Memorial fountain, construction of which was started about a year ago, will be completed before the close of the present week. The stone work for the fountain, three large pieces of granite having a weight of about 7,000 pounds, has been placed in position.

George H. Honig, of Evansville, sculptor who designed the fountain, was here yesterday, supervising details of work yet to be done. A copper plate, designating the year of construction, and by whom the gift was made to the city, has been placed on the north side of the fountain. The three copper figures to be placed at the top of the fountain are completed, and are ready to be placed. Some change in the arrangements for the light at the top of the fountain are to be made, before construction is completed.

Light posts to be erected at the approaches to the fountain are ready to be placed in position. The fountain will indeed be an improvement of which the city may well be proud.
